How to charge Tax for a Kickstarter/Indiegogo campaign on Surveys-PledgeBox

Use Tools → Survey Taxes to configure the tax calculations shown in your Pledge Manager survey. These settings control software calculations; they do not determine your tax obligations.

1. Choose the calculation type

The current page has four tabs: Survey Taxes Setting, Value Added Tax, Customs Duty and Tariff. Select the tab that matches the charge you intend to configure.

2. Set the destination and rate

Click Add Country/Region.
Select the destination and name the rule so you can identify it later.
Enter the percentage as a number from 0 to 100.
Review any state-level or ZIP-based options available for that destination.

Enter 4.32 for 4.32%, not 0.0432. Review a tax template before applying it; a template does not confirm that a rate fits your project.

3. Check what the rule includes

The current table has separate controls for Exclude Rewards, Exclude Shipping Fees, Exclude KS Add-on and Exclude PB Add-on. Review each selected exclusion rather than assuming one setting applies to every part of the order.

Expand a rule to review its available detail controls. Complete any save action shown by the page, then reopen the settings to confirm that your configuration was retained.

4. Review customs-duty options separately

The Customs Duty tab also shows an EU Fixed Customs Duty option. Its current hint describes a fixed charge per unique product category, using HS-code groups and the project currency. Ungrouped products are not counted by that calculation.

Check product grouping and the configured amount before enabling this option. Do not treat the presence of a software option as a statement that the charge is legally required for every shipment.

5. Preview representative orders

Use Preview as Backer to check the item prices, shipping, tax, existing pledge credit and final balance for the intended destination.

Check a reward-only order.
Check an order with original-platform and PledgeBox add-ons.
Check a destination with a different rate.
Check any bonus, discount or credit separately in the order summary.

Do not assume that every bonus or credit is tax-exempt, or that every charge is included in the tax base. Use the configured rule and the actual order calculation. Resolve an unexpected amount before sending surveys or collecting payment.
