Create a product once, then choose how it is used: inside rewards, as an extra PledgeBox add-on, or both.
1. Enter Product Details
- Go to Set Up Products → Products.
- Click Add Product.
- Select Physical Product or Digital Product.
- Enter the name, description and unique SKU.
- Add product images. The current screen recommends at least 500 × 500 pixels or a 1:1 ratio.
- For physical products, check package weight, size and their displayed units.
- Configure variants if the backer must choose options such as size or color.
- Click Save & Next when the required details are complete.
The current Digital Product dialog describes downloads for Kickstarter backers. Check the digital-product guide before configuring file delivery.
2. Associate rewards
In Associated Rewards, answer Is this product part of any reward?
- Select Yes and enter the quantity included in each relevant reward.
- Select No if the product is not included in a reward.
This controls included reward contents. It does not by itself enable extra purchases.
3. Enable PledgeBox add-on purchases
In PledgeBox Add-on Setting, answer Allow backers to purchase this product as an add-on?
- Select Yes when backers may buy extras.
- Set Add-on Price and check any Retail Price.
- Set total availability and the quantity each customer may purchase.
- Configure Add-on Shipping Fees.
- Select the eligible rewards under Offer to Backers.
- Check Custom Price or Late Pledge Price settings if you use them.
- Save using the controls shown and preview the result.
The add-on price applies when the backer buys an extra item. Reward shipping is configured on the reward page. The current add-on screen states that add-ons are available only for countries with configured shipping fees when shipping is required.
A product can be included in a reward and also sold as an add-on. Check both settings to avoid missing or duplicate entitlements.
