Use product variants when a backer must choose an option such as size or color. Check the resulting SKU combinations before saving.

Add a variant

1. Go to Set Up Products → Products.
2. Open the product.
3. In Product Details, find Variants.
4. Select Yes, I am offering options for this item.
5. Click Add Variant.
6. Enter the Variant Name, such as Size.
7. Enter the Values, such as Small, Medium and Large. Use Add New Value for another value.
8. Check the names and values, then click OK.

Check the generated SKUs

The Variant List shows the variant name, values, SKU count and default selection. The All SKUs table shows the generated combinations.

For example, four sizes and three colors create 4 × 3 = 12 combinations. Adding another option can increase the total quickly.

1. Check each generated SKU and variant value.
2. Set a default value where appropriate.
3. Review excluded combinations.
4. Check quantity availability for each SKU.
5. Follow any combination limit or validation message shown before saving.
6. Save using the controls shown and preview the backer’s selection.

Upgradeable variants

Upgradeable Variants is a separate tab. Review its price and eligibility settings when one variant requires an additional payment. Do not assume that adding a value alone creates a paid upgrade.
