Use a domain or subdomain you control as the web address for your backer survey. This changes the survey URL. It does not by itself change the sender address of survey emails.

1. Choose your survey hostname

Choose an unused subdomain, such as survey.yourdomain.com. Do not replace the www record or root domain used by your existing website. Save a copy of the current DNS records before editing them.

2. Get the records from your project

1. Open your Pledge Manager project.
2. Click Connect Domain near the bottom of the left menu.
3. Enter the full hostname you want to connect and continue.
4. Read the required records in Domain Setting.

The current screen shows a CNAME for the survey hostname and a TXT verification record. Copy the Type, Name and New Value from your own project.

The red box marks the CNAME Name. In this example it is survey. Use your project’s values; do not copy another project’s verification text.

3. Add the DNS records

Add the records at the provider that manages your authoritative DNS. Keep the records used by your website, email and other services. If a conflicting record exists at the chosen hostname, check its purpose before replacing it.

4. Verify and finish setup

1. Return to Connect Domain and click Verify Connection.
2. Resolve any record errors shown by PledgeBox.
3. Continue to Payment Info and complete the steps shown for your project.
4. Open a survey using the custom hostname. Check that HTTPS loads without a certificate warning and that the intended survey opens.
5. Check the available payment methods before sharing the custom URL with backers.

DNS propagation is not immediate. If verification fails, check the active DNS provider, record type, full hostname and exact value. Avoid entering the domain twice when the provider appends it automatically. Retry after propagation.

If you need to undo a change, restore only the affected record from your saved copy. Do not reset the whole DNS zone.
